Badminton Court
The type and size of badminton court that will need to be used will often vary for each individual game. This is because a badminton court for children will not necessarily be the same size as a badminton court for adults. Similarly, badminton played for fun in the yard will not always apply the same badminton court size as a competitive game played by serious badminton players. In addition, a badminton court will measure differently if the game is for singles than it will if it is for doubles. This is an important factor either way. You will not want an old badminton court meant for two people if it is singles play, because the players may not be able to get to the shuttlecock in time, making the game less fun. If you are building a badminton court for singles, but doubles play, the players will not have enough room and may likely run into or hit one another on accident.
The size of a badminton court for double play is typically 44 feet long by 20 feet wide. The badminton court for singles is typically 44 feet long by 17 feet wide. The edges of badminton courts need to be marked in some way, and this will vary according to where the sport is played. If the badminton court is played in a professional setting, the lines for out of bounds will likely be permanently marked. Similarly, a badminton court indoors, such as in a gym, can use the permanent markings typically used for other sports, such as basketball and volleyball. If, however, the court will be located in an area that is only temporary, the badminton court measurements can be made and the markings can be done using chalk, paint, rope, and a variety of other objects.

A badminton court diagram looks a lot like a tennis or volleyball court. There are a variety of places you can find badminton court diagrams, including through professional player clubs. Badminton court pictures are also available along with how-to information about game play, and this can be found in many places as well. Books and brochures devoted to the sport are a good place to look for information about badminton courts, as well as online websites. This can come in handy whether you are studying the badminton court for your own knowledge, and you will be playing on a ready court, or if you will be making your own court.
