If you aren’t really interested in ping pong, but you like the idea of racquet sports, there are many others for you to choose from. One of the most popular types of other racquet sports is the original—the one most racquet sports are based on—tennis. Tennis is one of the other racquet sports that is much more physical than table tennis, and it is played exactly as table tennis is, as if you were standing on the table.

One of the other racquet sports that is very popular is racquetball. This sport requires a different type of racquet than tennis, and the ball is bounced to one another against a wall. So instead of each player standing on one side of the net and hitting the ball over, the players basically stand side by side and hit the ball at the same wall, returning it each time. In this type of other racquet sports, there are many variations to the game, including play without a racquet at all, which is known as handball. The same rules apply, only no racquet is needed and the ball is hit with the hand.

Another type of other racquet sports that is popular is badminton. This is a game similar to tennis, but is also similar to volleyball in the way that the net is higher. A lightweight racquet is used and a shuttlecock is the object hit back and forth in this racquet sport. Table tennis is often considered a variation on other racquet sports, because a handheld item is used to hit the ball over the net each time. However, the object used to hit the ball in this sport is actually a paddle, typically made of wood. It is solid as opposed to most other racquet sports, which have a mesh or wire center to the racquets.

Depending on which of the other racquet sports you choose to play, there are many gaming options. You can find most other racquet sports in physical form, with some offering more exercise than others, or you can play many of them electronically. The use of 3D racquet sports is increasing, and electronic games that require physical movement for the play of other racquet sports are becoming more and more popular. Whichever of the other racquet sports you choose to play, the all have similar rules and availability of singles or doubles play.
