Pickleball

Pickleball is commonly referred to as a game that is similar to both tennis and table tennis. It meets right in the middle, and the history of pickleball starts many years ago when a dog, named Pickles, would chase and carry away the ball in a backyard game. The pickleball history has since gained followers that play not only at school age, but even into adulthood. The court of a pickleball game is typically 44 feet by 20 feet, and there is a net that the ball must be hit over using racquets. Pickleball rules are very similar to tennis or even badminton, with the ball being hit over the net in the hopes that it won’t be returned by the opposing team. If this happens on a serve, the pickle ball team that served gets a point and serves again. If this happens on a return, the serving team loses the serve but no points are gained for the pickle-ball game.

The pickleball paddles must be no more than eight inches in width, and the pickleball rules state that a plastic ball with holes in it must be used for game play. This type of ball, commonly known as a pickleball, is also commonly called a whiffle ball. There are a variety of pickleball games and drills available that will help a pickleball player get better at the game, and there are videos and books on the subject as well. If you are interested in the sport, these places are great to look for pickleball info, but you can also learn pickleball skills by reading on the Internet. There are many websites devoted to the game of pickleball, and you can easily find the rules and tips of the game at almost any of them. Reading about the history of the game can also give you insight and potentially make the game more fun for you.

You can find pickleball supplies at many sports stores, and you can also shop online. Many times, you will find pickleball equipment in the same stores you will find table tennis or racquetball equipment. You can easily find an entire set to play with in your backyard, although many people like to play competitive pickleball. The type of equipment, and the cost of it will depend on how serious you are about the game as well as the purpose of game play, as you may want cheaper items for simple recreational fun.
